Sacred Aging

Sacred Aging is based on the recognition that life’s phase for those 50 years of age on up can be an empowering and inspiring opportunity for spiritual, emotional and psychological growth. All too often in our modern youth-obsessed culture, many elders suffer from fear, anxiety, isolation and stress during this period of life.

In many ancient and indigenous cultures, however, eldering has always been regarded as a sacred and honored phase of life. Along this line, Sacred Aging offers support in Conscious and Sacred Aging to elders so that our lives continue to be vibrant with joy and self-discovery, that we may consciously acknowledge and harvest the fruit of our wisdom and creativity, and that we honour and share our experiences with all that has heart and meaning for us.

One of the goals in Sacred Aging is to encourage elders to explore consciousness in ways that lead to a more balanced, self-compassionate, and intentional way of embracing the aging process. Additionally, we encourage the exploration and implementation of skills that enable us to better cope with change, impermanence and death, which include acceptance, surrender and humor.

Sacred Aging retreats and workshops focus on inviting shifts in consciousness away from self-limitation, lack, isolation, and fear and to move instead towards a greater expansiveness, inclusiveness, wholeness and connection with self and others.

“ Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter!”

– Mark Twain, American author –
